Stop practicing.
That’s right. There comes a point in every preparation process when you need to take a break and stop practicing. More rehearsal won’t help until you’ve given yourself some time away from the material and from your own self, working on it.
Usually that day or so away helps you synthesize; while you do other things, your brain is knitting it all together, without any conscious effort on your part. When you come back to it, you’re likely to find yourself refreshed and with new energy.
The trick to this is that you have to have started practicing early enough to be able to take a day off 🙂
