In addition to her role as a consultant and facilitator for Ignite CSP, Anne Thibault Geen is also a tenured professor of theatre at Eastern Illinois University. She was previously on the faculty at Columbus State University in Georgia, where she ran a nationally recognized arts program for at-risk and incarcerated youth, Empowered Youth of Columbus. She has also worked as a consultant, educator, and arts administrator for LEAP NYC, the Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre, the Alaska State Council on the Arts, the Fairbanks Arts Association, the National Shakespeare Company, Columbia University Teachers’ College, the GITIS School for Drama (Moscow) and many other companies.
Anne has worked professionally as an actress, playwright, and director for over twenty years. Acting and directing credits include work at North Carolina Stage Company, Pendragon Theatre, the Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre, the Theatre at Monmouth, the Clarence Brown Theatre, the Fulton Opera House, the Boston Peabody and more. Internationally she has performed at the Salzburg Seminar, Castello de Sannicandro di Bari, AKT-ZENT in Berlin and at the GITIS School in Moscow. Work in television and film include the independent film Waterville, Comedy Central’s Strangers with Candy, and Signe Bauman’s Birth.
Her plays I Wrote This Play to Make You Love Me, Antigone (or I really wish you hadn’t done that), and A Wrinkle in Time have been produced professionally across the country.
